Marissa is on a mission to ensure that the Caribbean region is professionally marketed, branded and accurately represented throughout the world. A graduate of Emory University with an M.B.A. in International Marketing & Global Strategy and a B.B.A from North Carolina Central University, she has used her marketing & public relations skills to serve in several Caribbean organizations.


She was the Youth Officer for Trinidad & Tobago Association of Georgia Inc., Marketing Consultant for Georgia Caribbean Culture Inc. (G.C.C.) Inc. and for the Atlanta Carnival Bandleaders Council (A.C.B.C.) where she was one of the leaders executing Atlanta Carnival at The Underground in 2014. She also organized the launch of Caribbean American Heritage Month at Atlanta City Hall in 2015 while serving on the GCAHC board. She also coordinated the Thirty under Thirty awards for the Institute of Caribbean Studies in 2016 and 2017.


Marissa has worked for a variety of media houses in various capacities such as columnist for the Caribbean Spice Magazine and Talawah Journals. She currently serves as Chief Editor for 2BKaribbean LLC. Marissa also served as a board member at WRFG 89.3 F.M and contributed as an air-shifter for the Caribbean Runnings Show for several years. She currently serves an on air personality for the Authentic Caribbean Show with Chubb Rock. Marissa is dedicated to creating balanced and accurate stories of the Caribbean region. She believes this can be achieved with an authentic sense of cultural pride, with unity in the community and with quality execution of any activity, which represents the Caribbean.
